November 22, 2013 is one that will always be in my mind and heart. It was the day that my sister’s nephew started fighting for his life at only three days old! When Baby Cruz was born he was born with a fever of 101 degrees, however everything else seemed normal. After staying in the hospital in additional day they were released and went home. Everything for twelve hours was completely normal. In the middle of the night his breathing was extremely labored and he did something that most newborns don’t normally do, he grabbed his mother’s face looked her in the eyes, and she new something was wrong. Britney immediately called 911 and an ambulance came and picked him up and took him to the hospital, from that day on he spent the next two and half months fighting for his life due to a Urea Cycle Disorder that ended up taking his life on January 30, 2014. He was the tiniest fighter I have ever seen and his mother never left his side.
They are the bravest family I know! Please follow @mycolonialremodel and her story.
